How to join #vadi-mapper on IRC

The IRC channel is a place to ask questions / get support / chat about mapping / discuss new ideas and so on about the mapper. It's located on the #vadi-mapper channel on the irc.freenode.net server - if you don't know how to get there, instructions are provided below.

Linux

Ubuntu

Open up Pidgin via Applications → Internet → Pidgin Internet Messenger. If you're greeted with the first time menu, click Add, otherwise, click on Accounts → Manage → Add.

For procotol, select IRC, for 'Screen name', make up any nickname, and use irc.freenode.net as the server. Save that, and then go to Buddies → Add chat. Select your IRC account, and paste #vadi-mapper for the channel. Click add then, and the channel will appear in Pidgin's window. Double-clicking on the channel name will join it.

Other distributions

(please instructions here if you know how to)
