Vadi 2.0

For all of you who have wanted to use the Vadi System, but who have been unwilling or unable to play Achaea in Nexus, rejoice! Vadi 2.0 cometh.

Originally based on Whyte's ITMS program from Imperian - with his full permission and encouragement - Vadi 2.0 offers all Achaeans the ability to use the Vadi System, regardless of your preference in gaming clients. How is this done? Vadi 2.0 is an external system that connects your client to Achaea, offering freedom as well as intense speed, since it bypasses client parsing and sends commands directly to the game. Vadi 2.0 will be as powerful, efficient, and easy to use and customizable as the original Vadi System, and will work not only on practically any MUD client*, but with most operating systems as well, including Windows, Linux and Mac OS.

The Serpent and Monk versions of Vadi 2.0 are complete, and undergoing testing now, and all classes are tentatively expected to be finished within a month.

Vad 2.0 will cost 60cr for regular systems, and 70cr for lifevision systems. Discounts will apply for those who already own the Nexus system.

*Vadi 2.0 cannot be used with Nexus, though the original Vadi System will continue to be updated and supported regularly, for those who prefer Nexus over others.

Vadi Mapper

In addition to Vadi 2.0, a full interactive map of the world is over halfway completed. The Vadi Mapper, also based on the ITMS programming concepts, is a mullti-client smart map that is directly viewable through the game.

Ongoing Discussion

Full details regarding these two projects will be made ready soon. If you have interest, contact Vadi for more information, or post at the ongoing discussion on the Achaean forums - in the thread located here.

Other News

Geriand has kindly offered a script which will show you how many inks you have in the rift, without having to sort through all of your other riftables first. Find the script here.

We're going to start sharing logs once again, look for the newest ones to the left, and older ones on the logs page.

August 13, 2007

Vadi has just gotten back from his summer vacation, and will be working to answer any questions you have sent to him while he was absent, as well as making any necessary updates or changes that have become necessary since his departure.

In the meantime, here were some of the updates from last month.

System updates:

  • added flail staff for druids
  • The system now recognizes when you die fully, and will pause accordingly. When you come back to life, it'll unpause automatically.
  • fixed and added some bashing triggers (goblin zombies, ogre archmage)
  • added a trigger for lying down
  • optimized certain function calls in system; which reduced the size by 5% on average.
  • fixed a few triggers that Nexus didn't like and were causing it to stop displaying incoming text
  • adjustments to pipe filling
  • the refilling script was updated to reflect changes to vials, including a few new commands
  • restored priest healing & focus
  • fixed vision thirdeye triggers
  • fixed some typos
  • added a new option - vconfig_echo . That'll have be more informative to you, and tell you the commands it's doing
  • various other internal tinkering

Scripts:

  • New Monk Limbcounter script - works like the Knight Limb Counter.
  • Sileris tracker for Serpents (thanks to Raesheon), 2cr. It works the same way as the rebound tracker does - warns you when sileris is going to come up, and highlights in a very visible colour when it does.

Coming Soon:

  • update to the name highligher script so that it can accomodate more names
  • anti-theft script
  • all of the projects listed to the left (on the front page!)

July 13, 2007

A new batch of updates was released recently.

  • fixed web/trample
  • added the shortcut for antiillusion (tn a, tf a) to vhelp files.
  • added a trigger for mountkick, so mk/trample will no longer work.
  • added a shark trigger to the bashing group.
  • fixed antiillusion with vodun mangle
  • fixed a scenario with an unknown crippled leg and standing, where the system would spam trying to stand up. It won't anymore!
  • fixed a bit of inconsistency with breathing and vshow
  • optimized several things to take up less space.
  • fixed some typo's with turnoff
  • added a trigger to stop spammy health/mana sipping in rare cases
  • adjusted simulacrum trigger to fit all name lengths.
  • adjusted serpent defences to the changes in Achaea

    And a note from Vadi:

"Also, an early notice - I will be going on vacation in two weeks (starting July 28th). Meaning that if you want something coded/added to the system/.etc, it's a very good idea to contact me before then.

Enjoy the summer! (while staring addictively at Achaea...)"

July 1, 2007

We are going to start branching off and including scripts for other IRE games as well. The first - an autosipper for Lusternia, in xml format. Works the same as the autosipper for Achaea. Free.

Our refilling script has been updated to reflect the changes to vials.

The milking script has also been updated to reflect these changes.

June 27, 2007

Chani has made some changes to the utility Enchantment script.

- new capability to enchant scabbards with stasis
- fixed a bug that made it impossible to enchant bags of stasis
- updated alerts about how to use features on certain items

June 15, 2007

The XML Importing and Exporting Guide has been updated with important information on transferring files through Hotmail email accounts.

A new Enchanting script, by Chani, is now available.

The Get / Offer Corpse script has been updated, now allowing the user to give corpses to another player with one quick command. Useful for defiling or sancification trips, or when you suddenly have to leave the realm.

June 13, 2007

Remember to use caution when importing scripts that anyone gives you. If you do not know and trust a person or a source, you should not download anything from them, nor import scripts that they may offer. It is possible that people can hide malicious automation between lines of seemingly innocuous code.

Some additions have been included in the XML guide - in the Known Bugs section and the Tips and Tricks section.

June 10, 2007

All Vadi class systems as well as utility scripts have been converted to XML, and are available for purchase in that format. No more copying and pasting setting after setting.

Vadi has written a manual which explains how to use the new importing and exporting feature of Nexus. The manual also goes over the basics of XML scripting so that you can write your own.

Note that while the import/export feature in Nexus is functional, and can be used by all, it is still in development and changes may be made to it in the future. Any changes will be reflected in the manual, and updates will be posted here.

Free scripts are being converted to XML now. Some are already available in this format, and others are forthcoming.

Sieban's Autowalker script has been updated to better manage swimming.

There have been some minor changes to the navigation and appearance of the website.

That's it for now!

Previous news

Aeyr recently added a feature to Nexus which allows scripts and systems to be imported and exported all at once, with XML files.

The Vadi System is available for purchase now with credit cards and electronic checks, through Paypal. You do not need an account to use Paypal. Utility scripts are still available only through credit purchase, but that may change.
